Obiturary: Vonree Nelson

Vonree A. Nelson Sr. 90, of Natick died Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Addie L (Pridgett) Nelson.

Mr. Nelson was born in Detroit Texas, the son of the late Nathaniel and Lucy (Riley) Lanell. He was formerly employed by the B.F.Goodrich in the 1950’s and later worked for the United States Post Office, retiring after a lengthy career.

Mr. Nelson was a highly decorated Staff Sergeant earning three Bronze Stars among numerous other awards serving in the United States Army during World War II in the Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland Campaigns.

He is survived by Vonree A. Nelson, Jr. of Natick, Vincent J. Nelson of Mashpee, one brother Harry L. Nelson Sr. and his wife Esta of Houston TX, grandchildren Lavinia Fleurimond and her husband Kevin, Vonree Gabriel Nelson, Jonathan Booker Nelson, Jordan Nelson, one great-grandchild Kevin Fleurimond, Jr. He was also the father of the late Marsha Nelson.

He was buried with Military Honors in Dell Park Cemetery on Thursday, August 16.
