An Amazing and Glorious River

Hi Friends,
Just a "shout-out" to join me on the 15th Annual Charles River Earth Day Clean-up, Sat., 4/26. Email me for details at bpconaway@gmail.com. I'm coordinating a group of volunteers in the upper watershed -- Norfolk-Populatic Pond an upstream. The river is so gorgeous at this time of year. Full and alive with all kinds of birds, turtles, fish...you name it. Had an opportunity to do a "scout" trip this morning before rain creeped in. Plenty of floatable trash "kicked up" by high water of the past couple weeks. Huge Beaver Lodges. A snag-obstruction which I'll take out next week with my electric chainsaw. Another enormous "snag" at the entrance of the river and the pond. Sadly a couple of tires, two basketballs, a number of plastic bottles...nonetheless you just can't imagine how beautiful the river is in early spring. Check out the red buds/blossoms on the maples and oaks. We're going to have a great time on Sat., 4/26. Join us if you can. --pat
