Great TEAM Effort at Dug Pond

Hi Friends, Incredible TEAM Effort today (6/15) on Dug Pond.  Good News:The Pond and shoreline were in much better shape.  Even BlueBerry Island was in good shape.  Only a few stray bottles and cans.  Many thanks to the Natick HS Earth Club under the leadership of Linda Nguyen (Vice President), Raghu Bardwaj (President), Faculty Advisor, Doug Milch and his daughter, Molly, BHLF Wife and incredible volunteer (Jane Conaway), Aram Zadow and his sons Declan and Ryan, Chris Madico, veteran BHLF Volunteer -- Sam Mcauley, Tim Brainerd, Dan Dick and his son, Jonah, and several other volunteers, we were able clean up most of the southern and northern shorelines, plus  "Blueberry Island") -- a site of enormous abuse for decades.  • The shoreline and most of the pond in much better shape than ever.• Blueberry Island was incredible.  Most of the bottles and cans had been placed into the BHLF unit near the rope swing.  Of course, its early.  (Before the weather hits 90º plus).  We'll see how it goes for the rest of the summer. • Dan and his son, Jonah, cleaned up most of the northern shore and Ice House areas. Raghu, Linda, and  Doug were good enough to help me load all the boats on the Trailer.   Can't thank you enough for preserving Dug Pond as one of Natick's Environmental "Jewels." --Pat
