Room for Improvement Part 2

Hi Friends,
Encouraging News:
Around my neighborhood, some evidence that a few more people are shoveling their sidewalks and digging out hydrants (after the last storm, 1/2, 1/3).  Sadly many still don't.
Then Natick Fire Dept. has begun to deploy new fire hydrant markers (3 new ones on Brookdale Rd, at least one on Washington Ave.)  They are really high quality w/ spring loaded attachments at the base w/ high flags which will maintain an erect profile in large storms and drifts, (far superior to the humble little BHLF placeholder bamboo and bungi cord units that I had attached).
Less Encouraging News:
Many hydrants throughout the town still remain unmarked.  An informal survey of surrounding Towns (Wayland, Framingham, Wellesley and Weston which I drive through weekly) reveals that they maintain hydrant markers on well over 95% of their hydrants.  What happened to Natick?  I don't know.
A worrisome minority of ignorant and miseducated dog owners (who fail to pick up pet waste) still persists.  People just don't realize how toxic the pet waste is to our streams, lakes, ponds, and aquifers.  -Pat
