Trail Erosion in Natick

Recently we've had some success deploying low tech erosion control devices (detritus "burritos") at the Coolidge Hill Sledding Hill up from School St. Ext. and at Dug Pond (the badly eroded banks leading down from the Pond St. Parking Notch.)  The Big Heart Little Feet Trail Buddies will be back at it Mon., 9/23, 10 am - Noon, at the Coolidge Hill Sledding Hill (School St. Extension).  Just check in with Pat Conaway (508-740-9949 or bpconaway@gmail.com) if you're interested in getting involved.  And don't forget our Awesome Natick Trails Day, Sat., Oct. 19, 9 am - 3 pm at the Natick Town Forest.  Come for an hour or two, or stay the whole day, whatever your schedule allows.  We need your help.  The Natick Trails are gorgeous, but there is a lot of work to do to "heal" some of their "wounds" (erosion, invasive species, trashing from thoughtless and miseducated people).  You can make a huge difference and preserve these wonderful green spaces for all to share.  --Pat
