Volunteers Give an Autumn Blessing to our Natick Town Forest

Dear Friends of Natick Trails, We enjoyed spectacular fall weather, great teamwork and friendship (Sat., 10/19) on our Fourth Annual Natick Trails Day (at the Hunnewell Town Forest - "our 100 Acre Wood").  Over 40 volunteers came and pitched in on projects that ranged from erosion control, hacking back encroaching vegetation and invasive species, and clearing new diversion paths which were blocked by "downers" from SuperStorm Sandy.  We accomplished a lot; tip your hat to these volunteers; they've made a huge difference in our Town Forest.    Many thanks to the Natick Town Forest and Trails Maintenance Committees, The Natick HS Earth Club and Mr. Milch who turned out a great group of student volunteers; plus several BHLF Trail Buddies (including event photographer, Buz Bragdon), neighbors and friends.  We also would like to thank Nick at Dunkin' Donuts (Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Donuts, Bagels, and Munchkins), Sean at Walgreens (water bottles), and the Trustees of Reservation (Trail Tools) for their generous support.    Please join us on the Natick Trails.  You'll be glad you did.  --Pat
