Brockton Woman Allegedly Tries to Make Off with Makeup

Natick Police have arrested a woman on multiple charges after an incident at the mall earlier this week.

Maria R. Gomes of Clarence Street in Brockton was arrested at 10:55 p.m. on May 14, and charged with larceny over $250, being an arrestee furnishing a false name/SSN, and three default warrants.

According to an arrest report, police were sent to the store for a shoplifting allegation. Employees and police allege that Gomes tried to steal $517 worth of makeup.

The warrants were for larceny under $250 from the Boston Police Department in May 2012; assault and battery, assault and battery DW from January 2013 from the Brockton Police Department; and three counts of assault and batter from July 2013 from an undisclosed law enforcement agency.

According to online reports, Gomes was arrested in May 2013, for allegedly shoplifting bras from Victoria’s Secret at the Northshore Mall along with a Brockton man, according to the Salem News. In July 2012, she was arrested in Braintree and charged with assault and battery, mayhem, larceny over $250, and receiving stolen property less than $250, according to online reports. She was arrested with another woman from Brockton.
