Cash Stolen From Homeless Nonprofit

Family Promise MetroWest, located in the First Baptist Church on Common Street, was broken into on Saturday.

A nonprofit that helps homeless families was broken into over the weekend, and police are investigating.

A caller from Family Promise MetroWest notified police at 8:38 a.m. Saturday that someone had broken into the shelter, located in the basement of the First Baptist Church on Common Street. A window was smashed and a cash box was reported missing, the caller told police.

According to Natick Police, a subject forced open a ground level window and gained access to the office area. While in the shelter, the person located a cash box and ransacked the office.

The cash, according to police, belonged to both Family Promise and one of its clients. 

A detective processed the scene; at present, there are no suspects.
