Howe Street Home Invasion Suspect At Large

Police are looking to apprehend a man who broke into a resident's house through a bedroom window.

A dog may have lost his scent, but Natick police are still on the trail of a man who broke through a bedroom window Saturday night, throwing a jewelry box at the resident's head as he fled.

The incident, reported just after 10:15 p.m. Saturday, triggered a police search that involved and Framingham police, as well as a State Police K9 unit.

Lt. Brian Lauzon said yesterday that police called off the search at about midnight, after the dog lost the scent around Shady Oak Lane.

Lauzon said the suspect cut through a screen window in the resident's bedroom, which he then entered.

The suspect, described as a black male, between the ages of 20 to 25, grabbed a jewelry box and threw it at the resident's head as he made his escape, Lauzon said.

He was described as 5 foot 10 inches, wearing a maroon sweatshirt and khaki pants.

The man fled toward Bishop Street, Lauzon said. Police searched for an hour before calling off the search.
