Man Arrested After Kidnapping, Assault With Knife, Police Say

The following information was provided by the Natick Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Friday, July 19

At 4:13 p.m. Raphael Pitaluga, 18, of 126 Beaver St., Framingham turned himself into the Natick Police Department after being on the run for two days. Pitaluga had abandoned a vehicle Wednesday afternoon during a police pursuit but failed to remove personal identification from the vehicle including his license and cell phone. He was charged with operating after suspension for drunken-driving, operating with a revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, attaching a false license plate, negligent operation, speeding, operating an unregistered vehicle and two counts of failure to signal.

At 6:11 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle on Route 9 and arrested Wilfredo Zabaleta, 29, of 42 Turner St., Waltham on charges of operating a vehicle without an inspection sticker, possession of a class D substance and warrant charges out of Waltham District Court for threatening to commit a crime and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

At 7:19 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of an assault at the Village Green Apartments. The victim suffered minor physical injuries but refused hospitalization after Mardoqueo Maldonado-Barrios reportedly attacked her with a knife. Maldonado-Barrios, 33, of 38 Gordon St., Apt 2, Framingham, was charged with kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidating a witness, threatening to commit a crime and assault and battery.

At 1:27 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Pond Street. Bouchaib Abzize, 36, of 214 Campbell Ave., Revere was arrested and charged with operating with a revoked license and operating at night without the use of headlights.

At 12:11 p.m.: Joao Neto, 50, of 100 A St., Framingham, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation after a traffic stop on Commonwealth Road West.

Sunday, July 21

At 3:22 p.m.: Officers arrested Kevin E. Zonghi, 56, of 7 Village Hill Ln., Apt. 11, on the charge of assault and battery.
