UPDATED: Natick Man Was Drinking Before Fatal Crash in Norfolk

The 20-year-old was arrested early Saturday morning after a crash in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police, have arrested a Natick man in connection with a fatal crash early Saturday morning. Early Saturday morning around 2 a.m., Seelye allegedly was driving and the vehicle side swiped a utility pole and struck a concrete bridge abutment on Main Street in the City Mills section of Norfolk.

Jason Seelye, 20 of Natick, was arraigned on Monday and is charged with motor vehicle homicide in the Wrentham District Court. Norfolk Police sated additional charges may be brought forth as the investigation is ongoing.

According to WBZ Seelye was arrested after the crash and blew a .11 on the breathalyzer. He also reportedly admitted to texting just before the crash.

In addition to the homicide charge, Seelye was charged with negligent operation, drunken-driving and injury from mobile phone use.

The passenger, who remains unidentified at this time, was transported by helicopter to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester where he later died of his injuries.
