Natick Police Help Deliver Baby on Route 9

Three officers help make an early morning delivery on Route 9.

Three Natick Police officers helped a woman give birth on the side of Route 9 early Saturday morning.

Natick Police Officer Chris Showstead found a woman in advanced labor after approaching a stopped car on Route 9 at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Natick Police Department's official Facebook page and WBZ Channel 5 Boston.

The baby girl held off for two more officers, Chris Salis and Scott Wade, to arrive and help keep the situation safe, but came into the world ahead of the ambulance that arrived on the scene.
