Natick resident Kyle Boudreau will being Police Academy training on Jan. 13.

Natick's Board of Selectmen approved Police Chief James Hicks' request for approval of a new officer during its Dec. 16 meeting.

Kyle Boudreau, a lifelong Natick resident and member of the Natick High School class of 2004, was in attendance when the Board unanimously agreed to the appointment.

After graduating from NHS, Boudreau attended and graduated from Westfield State University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

He is currently employed full-time at NHS workings as a student support facilitator, working with autistic children.

Hicks said a thorough investigation was conducted and found no disqualifying incidents or factors in interviews with current and past employers.

"All have positive comments on his work performance and ethics," Hicks said.

Boudreau will attend the Police Academy starting Jan. 13 at the Boylston Regional Academy.

The Board also recognized Lt. Steven Pagliarulo who is retiring Jan. 2 after four decades on Natick's police force.

"He has been nothing but professional, nothing but respectful and caring about the organization and community," Hicks said. "You cannot find a better representative of the community and police department."
