Residents passed by majority vote to add a deputy town adminstrator of operations to go along with the deputy town administrator of finance director position on the town's pay plan.

Personnel Board Chairman Steve Levinsky said the goal was to give the town flexibility to hire one or two people to take over the responsibilities.

The addition of the title and position happened after the Personnel Board realized there would be a conflict with a previous Town Meeting vote that shifted the finance departments.

The deputy town administrator of operations position will be at a lower pay grade than the finance director.

"We need this flexibility and I urge your support," Cathi Collins of Precinct 9 said.

The deputy town administrator/finance director position would be used if the town hires one or two people fill in for Walters Young.
