Selectman Chair Carol Gloff Will Not Run for Re-Election

Carol Gloff has spent the last 8 1/2 years on the Board.

Natick Board of Selectman Chair Carol Gloff announced at the start of the Oct. 7 meeting that she will not run for re-election.

Gloff said her reason to announce her decision now was to let the public know in case anyone wants to run for selectmen in next year's election, and to allow time for the public to decide who they would like to see fill the seat.

"Although I very much enjoy (being on the Board), over past few months, I've had a lot of thought, and this term will be my last," she said.

Gloff said her decision had nothing to do with a recent illness.

"My doctor is eccstatic with my current health," she said, adding she had a bout of viral meningo encephalitis. "My decision is not related to the illness and I expect to be around for a long, long time."

Gloff said after the 2014 election she plans to ask to be appointed to a another town committee.

"I want to thank everyone for their support," she said. "I have a lot more to offer after the March election."
