Essay Writers Named Natick High Students of the Week

Nicole McPherson and Brianna Thornhill will read their winning essays at the MLK Jr. Celebration on Jan. 20.

Several Natick High School students responded to an invitation to submit an essay for the annual Community MLK Celebration Essay Contest.

Among them were Nicole McPherson and Brianna Thornhill, who will read their winning essays at the MLK Jr. Celebration on Jan. 20.

For their efforts, they were named Natich High School Students of the Week.

The celebration will be held at Wilson Middle School at 11 a.m. and is sponsored by the Natick Clergy Association and Natick Public Schools.

Nicole's essay was in response to Dr. King's claim that, "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend."

Brianna addressed his assertion that fear is the ultimate cause of hatred, prejudice and violence.

Honorable mention essays went to Pravallika Dhulipalla, Abby Fournier,
Kirsten Goldner, Shaye Ofodile and Jason Siegel.
