Natick Public Schools Seeks Feedback from Parents on Potential Changes

The following is an eblast from Superintendent Peter Sanchioni:

On behalf of the Natick School Committee and the Superintendent's Office we are asking you to take a few moments to complete the enclosed survey which will provide data on three key issues we are taking up as part of our goals this year.

They are:

* 2014-2015 School Calendar - the School Committee wishes to understand your thoughts on potential changes to the calendar.

* The School Committee and Superintendent are also investigating rescheduling the start times of the high school to a later time and the elementary schools to an earlier start time. The rationale is that teens may educationally benefit from a later wake up time.

* The School Committee and Superintendent are interested in your thoughts regarding the use of technology in the district and sustaining our current 1:1 initiative.

The questions in the survey are designed to elicit your thoughts and opinions. Your input will be one of the main determinants in helping the School Committee and Superintendent make decisions that will have an impact on future district policies and procedures.

All data will be collated and presented at an upcoming School Committee meeting and will be vigorously weighed before any final decisions are made. As always the public is always allowed to offer input at any School Committee meeting. The School Committee meeting on November 18th will discuss next year's school calendar.

In advance, we thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. We value your input.
