Natick Schools, Discovery Education to Host Interactive Learning Opportunity

Event held March 22.

n March 22, Natick Public Schools and Discovery Education will host an interactive ‘Day of Discovery’ professional development event for New England educators. During the event, attendees will connect with like-minded educators from the region and learn techniques for leveraging rich digital content and educational technologies to enhance instruction.

Sessions will focus on a variety of topics including the use of digital content to meet Common Core State Standards, flipping the classroom and digital storytelling. Participants will also glean best practices and strategies for enhancing instruction with Discovery Education services, including the Discovery Education Techbook series, a digital textbook solution for K-12 teachers and students, as well as Board Builder, an interactive tool which enables students to create and curate content, gather evidence, form arguments and support their claims.

Since 2008, Natick Public Schools has partnered with Discovery Education to bring dynamic digital resources that empower teachers, enhance curriculum and inspire students to district classrooms. Currently, the district uses Discovery Education Streaming Plus, a library of 200,000 digital assets aligned to state academic and testing standards, to create authentic learning environments that build the critical thinking skills today’s students need for college, careers and citizenship.
