Town Workers, Parent Volunteers Help Demolish Memorial School Playground

Principal recently deemed the playground as unsafe.

About 10 volunteer parents and a couple of Town of Natick DPW employees gathered at the playground area of Memorial Elementary School on Oct. 25 to help take down the unsafe structures.

Principal Matthew Joseph deemed the playground as unsafe earlier this month and closed of the area to students.

FINCOM recently approved $100,000 to help improve the dilapidated playground, but to help keep the costs down Joseph asked for volunteers to pitch in on the demolition.

"This cost savings will help add additional equipment to the kindergarten playground," he said in a recent news blast.

Volunteers helped take down the old playhouse, swings and other play structures.
