Walsh Principal Teresa Carney will leave the Framingham Public School District at the end of the school year.

"It is with mixed emotions that I inform you that I was offered the job as principal of Wilson Middle School in Natick yesterday and I have accepted it," she wrote to parent in an email this morning.

Carney was one of three finalists for the Natick position.

"It has been an honor to serve the Walsh Community for the past eleven years.  It is a remarkable school with amazing staff who care greatly about each of your children. I am extremely confident in the leaders and staff that will continue to carry on the vision for Walsh. I look forward to contributing to the Walsh Community as a parent as my own children become Walsh students in a few years, said Carney, a Framingham resident.

Carney will  start as as principal at Wilson Middle School in Natick on July 1.

Walsh is one of three middle schools in Framingham. It has just under 700 students. The state has graded it a level 2 school. (Editor's Note: Level 1 is considered the best level.)

Framingham's two other middle schools Cameron (a level 2 school) and Fuller (a level 3 school) both have new principals, that were hired in 2013.

Wilson Middle School in Natick is also a level 2 school, with just over 900 students.
