I am NOT pleased with the mechanic and garage. We live in S. Natick and when our car broke down we brought it there for repair. We paid $650 for a new alternator. The car drove OK for a week but kept stalling so we brought it back in. The mechanic, Bob Young, is a nice enough guy and said he thought it was "unrelated to the alternator and might be something else as the computer may need to recalibrate". Fair enough. The car drove just OK for the next few weeks until it broke down on the side of the road. Again. It was a weekend and their garage was not open so we took it to a Japanese car specialist in the Natick Center. Guess what? It was "a bad alternator and we've never seen this generic brand before. It's not something we would install in any of our cars" I called S. Natick Gulf and Bob said, "OH! It's a bad alternator bring it back in and we'll fix it." I asked him about the quality of the part and he said for "extra money we could upgrade to a factory alternator." Since I didn't want to throw good money after bad and he had TWO chances to fix the car I didn't. I had the other garage fix it with the factory part, for less money, and the car has been running flawlessly. I went and spoke to the owner and Bob and just asked for a refund for the alternator (~$350) and was willing to forgive the labor. They said "we can only exchange that for another alternator so we can't help you." Great. It seems extremely lame since we (used) to spend $100/week there on gas. In any case, the bottom line is they had two chances to fix our car and failed both times. Even worse, they would not stand behind their work. I like Bob, but I think there's a reason he's working at S. Natick Gulf. The owner is also useless. I wouldn't let them touch my car with a ten foot pole. AVOID!!!!!!
