UPDATED: Natick Football Team Earns 3 Seed in MIAA South Sectionals

Redhawks take on No. 6 King Philip in quarterfinals.

After its phenomenal 56-55 overtime victory over Walpole, the Natick football team earned the No. 3 seed as an automatic qualifier in the MIAA Division 2 South sectional tournament.

The Redhawks (7-0), who earned an 18.86 rating, will host sixth-seeded King Philip on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

The other automatic qualifiers are:

  • Mansfield (22 rating)
  • Barnstable (20.43)
  • Needham (17.14)
  • Duxbury (16.17)
  • Wellesley (11)
The winner of Natick vs. King Philip will take on the winner of Marshfield and Barnstable on Nov. 8 or 9.

There will be six Super Bowl games in the new format, with all being played at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 7.
