New England Patriots Honor Natick Football Coach

Mark Mortarelli named high school coach of the week.

New England Patriots and Pro Football Hall of Famer,  and Executive Director of Community Affairs Andre Tippett, visited Natick High School on Oct. 22 to present football coach Mark Mortarelli with the High School Coach of the Week award.

Mortarelli was honored in recognition of Natick’s 42-19 victory over Milton on Oct. 18, at Milton’s Memorial Field. Nursing a 21-19 lead midway through the third quarter, the Redhawks scored 21 unanswered points to seal the win and clinch a berth in the Division 2 South playoffs. 

The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation will donate $1,000 to Natick High School’s football program in Mortarelli’s name in recognition of his Coach of the Week selection.

This is the 18th year in which the Patriots join the National Football League in conducting the High School Coach of the Week program, which recognizes outstanding high school coaches and promotes youth football throughout New England. Tippett oversees the program as part of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation’s commitment to youth football initiatives.

At the end of the season, one high school coach will be named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Year and will receive an additional $2,000 contribution toward the school’s football program.
