Natick Food Pantry Need Highest in History

The Natick Food Pantry saw a five percent increase in food pantry usage this year, reaching the highest need the pantry has ever seen.

 

The following numbers are from the 's Annual Report for fiscal year 2012:

  • 8% increase in overall services provided by NSC case managers
  • NSC helped 218 Natick families heat their homes, avoid eviction and homelessness
  • 5% increase in food pantry usage (5,357 people; 2,258 families), the highest in the pantry's history
  • 11,300 bags of food were delivered
  • 420 gifts given to teens and children, senior citizens for the holidays
  • 224 food baskets supplied for 630 people for Thanksgiving
  • 233 backpacks with supplies given to Natick students
  • 150 volunteers helped out at the NSC
