Book Sale, Magic Show and More This Weekend

A smattering of events happening in Natick this weekend.

1. The Friends of the Morse Institute Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 29, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Morse Institute Library on East Central Street (Rte. 135) in downtown Natick.

Paperbacks are 50 cents and hard covers are $1; LPs, CDs, and cassettes priced as marked. Audiobooks, videotapes, DVDs, and puzzles are also available.

Out of consideration for all shoppers, scanners and strollers are not allowed on Saturday, but are welcome on Sunday.

Proceeds benefit the Friends (www.morsefriends.org), a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that supports the library with funding and service. The library is accessible to all.

2. Magician Mike Bent wows crowds with his wacky and outrageously funny tricks and jokes. His creative and imaginative routines landed him in front of the Obamas as a featured performer at the 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll. A seasoned comedian and former teacher, Bent and his family-friendly style have been seen on HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, and major network television. Show begins at 11 a.m. on Sept. 28

3. You're invited to join RCS Learning Center at their 6th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 28th from 12-4pm here at the school in Natick. The afternoon will be full of great family-friendly activities like games, crafts, animal shows, live music, ice cream truck, food, bouncy houses and more! Admission is $10 per person or $30 per family. (Rain date is Saturday, October 5th)

4. Local legend and guitarist Johnny A has been active for nearly 40 years. His style walks the fine line between blues and rock with a bit of jazz mixed in. Known for his creative use of the whammy bar, Johnny A’s guitar riffs are eloquent and complex with an edge of soulfulness and raw emotion. He was named Blues Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards in 2010. Show begins Sept. 28, at 8 p.m., at TCAN The Center for Arts in Natick, 14 Summer St.
