This is the fifth in a series of profiles of Natick residents running the 2013 Boston Marathon on April 15.
Name: Kat Whitten Age: 42 Profession: School Administrator Marathon Experience: This will be my 11th marathon and 3rd Boston. It's the first Boston I've qualified for, though. Reason for Running: Qualifying for Boston has been a goal of mine since college and there's nothing quite like running through Natick and getting the support of my friends and neighbors. I've been running competitively for almost 30 years, and it is an integral part of who I am. I feel happiest and most myself while out on a long run or while completing a speed workout on a track. Training tip: For me, consistency is the most important thing. If I know I'm setting an alarm to get up to run, it simply becomes routine. There's always a reason to talk yourself out of …

Papa was diagnosed with melanoma long before I was born and immediately started exercising religiously and wearing wide-brim hats in the sun, practices that I never understood as a kid, without knowing the full story. If he were here to see me now, he would be so proud that I am running the marathon, and the cause I am running it for. Charity: MFNE supports research to combat melanoma, while also sponsoring advocacy programs to teach people …

Here are the Natick runners participating in the Boston Marathon this year.

The brackets are set, and the NCAA Tournament is upon us once again, as today the 64 remaining teams will begin competing over the next three weeks with their eyes set on standing atop the college basketball universe. As people across the country tune in to the second round (yes, we think calling it that is silly too) games tomorrow, and millions of them frantically check their brackets to see how well they're doing with their predictions, we know that people here in Natick will be doing the same thing. With that in mind, we decided to find out what some of Natick's basketball "experts" have predicted in this year's tournament. Tim Collins, Natick High School Athletic Director: By far the best sporting event of them all. I have Louisville …
