Teen Arrested When Police Find LSD, Marijuana After Traffic Stop

See the latest police news in Natick.

A 17-year-old Natick teen was arrested in Weston Thursday after police allegedly found him driving the wrong way down a one-way street and found LSD and marijuana on him, said police. Anthony Spalla of Emerson Road in Natick was charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute and possession of a Class B substance and one-way street violation, according to Weston police.

Caller Reports Two People With Baseball Bats Try to Enter Bank

An individual called the Natick Police Dept. Tuesday to report that two individuals with baseball bats appeared to be entering a Citizen's Bank, according to Lt. Brian Grassey. No one reportedly entered the bank with bats and no evidence was found to support the claims, he said. If you have any more information, contact the Natick Police Dept.

VIDEO: Police Search for Shoe Snatchers

These women allegedly stole boots from a store in Natick Collection

Natick Police are searching for two individuals who allegedly entered a shoe store in Natick Collection on Feb. 10, removed shoes that they were wearing, put on new boots and walked out of the store without paying, according to Lt. Brian Grassey.  The two women met up with another individual before leaving the mall. When they realized they were being followed by mall security, they ran to the parking garage, where security personnel met up with them. The women turned over less expensive items that were allegedly taken from a different store, but did not turn over the boots. Security was unable to get any identification, according to police. Police Search for Gun Ditched on Rte. 9

Police searched for a handgun, which eyewitnesses said they saw thrown out of a car window while traveling on Route 9.

Natick Police were contacted Wednesday afternoon around 1 p.m. after witnesses allegedly saw an individual toss a handgun out the passenger window while traveling East on Route 9 into Natick, according to Lt. Brian Grassey. Police searched the scene near Speen Street with the help of a police dog, but were unable to locate a gun or any indication of disturbed snow. Based on the witnesses description of the vehicle, police were able to locate the car near McDonald's. The suspect was taken into custody by Southborough police where the alleged incident involving the gun reportedly began.  Around three-quarters of a mile was searched, according to Grassey, who added the police dog and officers are warming up after sifting through the snow …

Police Log Jan. 18: Icy Conditions Cause Seven Accidents

A mixture of snow and rain made for slick roads conditions Tuesday, causing seven reported accidents around town, according to Lt. Brian Grassey of the Natick Police. Only one of the seven motor vehicle crashes caused any injuries. At 10:56 a.m. a two car crash at 253 N. Main St. deployed the airbags, causing minor face and hand injuries to one of the passengers. Five of the seven accidents occurred between 8 a.m. and noon, which Grassey said is consistent with the flow of traffic during rush hour.  "It's nothing out of the ordinary for a day that's rainy and snowy," he said.

Residents Report Only Two Crashes, Despite Snow

Natick residents heeded the warnings to stay off the roads for the most part on Wednesday, making it much easier for the police and the Department of Public Works to do their jobs, despite heavy snowfall and slippery road conditions. Lt. Brian Grassey said between midnight on Tuesday and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, not a single motor vehicle crash was reported. It was not until 2:06 that a minor crash occurred at the intersection of Mill Street and Ranger Road, with no reported injuries. A second crash occurred at 3:22 p.m. at the intersection of Woodland Street and Clover Lane with no reported injuries, said Grassey. Sex Offender Registered on Speen Street

Natick Police have released a sex offender notification from the Sex Offender Registry Board.

The Sex Offender Registry Board notified Natick Police that a level three sex offender resides on Speen Street. Michael Clayton Sawin, 37, was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older and rape in April, 1995.
