Bakery on the Common has the curbside appeal of a movie or television set cafe: it sits on the corner of an aged brick building across from the town common, amidst various other small businesses. There is an inviting sign hanging above the entrance, which is a large (perhaps even majestic for the vertically challenged) wooden door. Inside, patrons chat pleasantly at nearly every table, some sipping hot chocolate with a friend, others noshing on hearty homemade paninis. Some stare wide-eyed at the display case of gorgeous cakes, pastries and cookies. I believe that the ONLY reason they have business is because of the location. I RARELY miss a Farmer's Market - and purchased coffee from Captain's Coffee there and Bagels from the bagel guy - MOSTLY because I did NOT want to go to Bakery on the Common where the new woman owner is so unfriendly - but some of the girls she has working for her are nice - prices are outrageous!
