Marion Street Closed; Bridge Determined to be Structurally Unsafe

Marion Street has been closed due to a bridge with structural problems.

Marion Street was closed until further notice Tuesday evening after the Massachusetts Department of Transportation found problems with a bridge on that street.  Officers began rerouting traffic to East Central Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.  Natick Patch will have more updates as they become available.

This bridge was rebuilt in 1990, why did it only last 22 years? When driving around, I've noticed that many bridges are over 40 years old and still in good condition.   more ›

Water Main Break Closes Pleasant Street

Parts of Pleasant Street and Thomas Avenue have been closed.

A water main break at the corner of Pleasant Street and Thomas Avenue has closed the roads there, according to initial scanner reports.  Police responded to the break around 10 a.m. Friday morning.  Natick Patch will have more details as they become available.

UPDATE: Can You Identify This Suspected Shoplifter?

This shoplifter is suspected of stealing nearly $1,000 worth of goods.

Update 7/11 12:33 p.m.: "Vigilant Loss Prevention officers in Burlington were able to identify this person and charges are presently being sought. Thank you Lord and Taylor Burlington for the help," the Natick Police Department Facebook page said. ---  Courtesy Natick Police Department. On July 9 store personnel reported to us that the pictured female was able to conceal several pairs of sunglasses and leave the store without payment. A complete inventory was to be conducted after the report was taken, but the value is believed to approach $1,000. Shooting in Framingham; Natick Police Searching for Suspect

The suspect, described as a white male, is reported to have fled the scene in a silver or grey Dodge motor vehicle, with a male driver, headed towards Waverly Street. Weapon is reported to be a 9mm automatic gun.

Just before 9 p.m. Sunday night a person was shot at 218 Beaver St. in Framingham. A report says the victim has life threatening injuries, with a gun shot wound to the upper back. A medical helicopter was requested. It was expected to land at the Framingham Department of Public Works landing zone, off Loring Drive. The suspect, described as a white male, is reported  to have fled the scene in a silver or grey Dodge motor vehicle, with a male driver, headed towards Waverly Street. The weapon is reported to be a 9mm automatic gun. Massachusetts State Police and Framingham Police are on the scene. Sherborn and Natick Police have been notified of the vehicle sought.
