How Was The DPW Plowing In Natick?

Patch began asking Natick residents on Facebook how they rate the job the Natick Department of Public Works did with plowing, and those who responded felt they did a very good job.

On the Natick Patch Facebook Page, we asked how you felt about the Natick DPW's job plowing the streets in town. We explained that on a scale of 1-10, 1 means the worst possible job and 10 meaning that Natick has the best DPW in metrowest. Taking that into account, here's the response we got, with the overall numbers being very favorable for the DPW. Elaine Mosgofian and Nicole Keefe Mason both responded that the DPW deserved somewhere between an 8 and a 10. Valerie Irvine Shealer said she gave the DPW a 9, while Pearl Northrop placed them in a 7-9 range. A couple of residents wrote in comments, including Joe Kiggen, who wrote, "Everyone is doing a great job as always." Monica DeBiase wrote, "Excellent. I was impressed." Robert Dunlop …

DPW Will Collect Storm Debris, Yard Waste Monday [Poll]

The Department of Public Works will collect bundled debris cut to four to five feet in length on Monday, Nov. 14.

After the rare October snowstorm that hit the northeast, branches and other debris littered yards and streets around town. Residents are asked to cut branches four to five feet in length, bundle them and leave them at the curb for pickup by 7 a.m. Other yard waste must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or in trash barrels marked "Yard Waste." The DPW will not collect any plastic bags. Yard waste collection will also take place on the following days: Residents may …

Board of Selectmen Notes

8 Things You Missed at the Selectmen's Meeting

The following are some of the important points you may have missed at Tuesday night's Board of Selectmen meeting.

1. Town administrator Martha White advised that if any residents did not receive a call from the town's emergency alert system Tuesday, they should update their contact information by clicking on the CodeRED link in the center of the town's website. 2. The Board of Selectmen appointed Barbara Shenker to the Natick Cultural Council. 3. Police chief James Hicks announced Natick police officers John Doherty, Jr. and Allan Graham will be promoted to sergeants. Doherty, a detective, has been a part of the Natick Police Department since Oct. 1993. Hicks called Doherty, the 2006 Officer of the Year, "self-motivated" and a "competent investigator." Graham, who was a part of the Bellingham Police Department from 1986 to 1992, transferred to …
