Strong to Severe Thunderstorms in Natick Possible Today Through Saturday

Large hail and downpours may accompany storms the next few days.

A stretch of warm and hazy weather conditions will lead to the possibility of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days, the National Weather Service is predicting. Earlier today the NWS issued a flood advisory for many communities, including Sudbury, after strong thunderstorms barreled through the Metrowest, dropping heavy rain on the region. Isolated storms could build again later today, with the potential for strong wind, hail and flash flooding in Natick.  The chance for strong storms will return on Thursday, with hail possible from the morning through the early afternoon hours. Flooding Causes Heavy Traffic on Rte. 9

Avoid Rte. 9 as flooding is causing major traffic backups in the area.

Rte. 9 has flooded at the intersection to Rte. 27, according to an initial scanner report.  The flooding is causing heavy traffic in the area.  Natick Police are responding, but reports say their communications center has been disabled, forcing them to communicate by hand-held radios.  Stay tuned to Natick Patch for details as they become available.
