Recycling Center Collecting Irene Debris

Residents can bring debris to the Natick Recycling Center.

Like a rude, univited house guest, Irene has come and gone and Natick residents are left cleaning up her mess. Our backyards are scattered with fallen branches, leaves and other debris from the storm. But what do you do with the mess? Natick residents may dispose of their debris at the Natick Recycling Center between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until Sunday, Sept. 4. The center is located on West Street at the corner of Route 27.

Road Closure Update: Speen Street Opens

The following roads are closed and are being cleared.

Downed trees, wires and debris have caused several roads to remain closed this morning. Currently the following roads are closed or have limited access as of 3:30 p.m., according to the town. Stay tuned for updates. Do you have another road closing to report? Tell us in the comments section.

VIDEO: Heavy Rains Create Flash Flooding

Rainfall has already caused flooding in some areas of Natick.

With Hurricane Irene on its way to Natick, rainfall has already started to cause flooding across town, making roads potentially unsafe for travel. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the area until 6:15 p.m. According to the WBZ weather team, 1.5 inches or more of rain has fallen in town and the worst is yet to come. The bulk of the storm is expected to hit Sunday, with an additional 3 to 4 inches of rainfall possible, according to the National Weather Service. The town of Natick has encouraged residents to finish preparing for the Hurricane as soon as possible, since Gov. Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency for Massachusetts beginning Friday night.
