The Natick High School boys and girls hockey teams are sponsoring the event in memory of their late teammate and friend.
The Natick High School boys and girls hockey teams will be sponsoring the First Annual Justin Bailey Memorial Food Drive on Wednesday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at William Chase Arena. Donations collected at this event, which is named in memory of the 17-year-old Natick High hockey player who died suddenly last year, will benefit the Natick Service Council Food Pantry. Be sure to take a look at the flyer to see the items that are most needed. The boys hockey team will host Norwood at 7:40 p.m. Admission for the game is $5, so people are encouraged to bring their non-perishable food items and stay for the game to show support for the Redhawks.

Natick held Braintree to only two goals in their Bay State Conference matchup on Wednesday night, but that's all the Wamps needed to win their tenth game, putting them at 10-2-2 this season so far and keeping them just ahead of Needham in the league standings. Dave Fasano scored Braintree's first goal at 6:30 in the first period on an assist by Connor Leslie. At 8:35 in the second period, Leslie set up Tom Mahoney with Braintree's second goal giving the Wamps a 2-0 lead. Natick scored less than a minute later, just seconds into a power play. hat would end the scoring for the evening for both teams as stellar defense and goal tending prevailed. Natick Hockey was tie in the final minute of their game Saturday night.
'Good things happen when you put the puck on net.' It may be one of the oldest hockey cliches around, but for the Red and Blue it held true Saturday night. The boys varsity team skated to a 2-2 tie against Herget Division rival Norwood with emotions still very much alive— prior to the game the Mustang program took the time to honor senior Justin Bailey with a donation and a moment of silence. The Natick hockey player died two weeks ago of natural causes. Once the game began, Natick was able to get on the board first after Ryan Donahue put home a rebound from a Brandon Kwok blistering post-ringing shot from the point to take the lead 1-0. People come out to help local family in time of need.
Behind the lead of the Natick Hockey Alliance and many other volunteers, the Justin Bailey Benefit for the Bailey Family was a smashing success Friday night at the VFW in Natick. More than 200 people stopped by the Natick Hockey Alliance event, whether they were involved with the Natick High School program or Comets program, or just wanted to lend their support. Others from surrounding communities were in attendance as well. In a matter of a few days, the community donated many great silent auction items on which to bid and raffle prizes to win. William Chase Arena was packed Wednesday night for the Natick High School varsity hockey team's first game since the death of teammate Justin Bailey.
It was a tribute...a sea of red...an emotional outpouring. The Natick and Red Blue varsity hockey team took the ice in front of a packed house at William Chase Arena Wednesday night, the fan base decked out in red in support of the hockey program playing their first game in more than a week after the death of senior forward Justin Bailey. The support was deafening, the atmosphere was electric, and the action on the ice couldn’t have been better. Across town, residents are working to raise money for the Justin Bailey Memorial Fund, which will help the family of a Natick High School senior who died last week.
In the wake of Natick High School senior Justin Bailey's death last week, Natick residents and the Massachusetts hockey community have united to remember the hockey player and raise money for a fund set up in his name. The town will come together tonight under one roof at the Natick VFW post to collect donations for the Justin Bailey Memorial Fund at Middlesex Savings Bank. The NHS Hockey teams met this weekend to form a human number "17" at the football field, in honor of Natick hockey player Justin Bailey, who died last Wednesday.
The number 17; a series of things distinguished by or marked by numerals. A team; a number of persons forming one of the sides in a game or contest, or a number of persons associated in some joint action. A family; a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head. On the surface, those three definitions may seem totally different to the average viewer. But beneath that surface is something much bigger, stronger and important. It is something that combines all three of those definitions into one— unity. In the sport of hockey the number that one wears tends to lend one purpose, to help identify the player on the ice.
