Craft Beer is Brewing at Barleycorn's in Natick

Beer lovers made custom brews at Barleycorn's on Thursday.

Measuring custom proportions of hops, malt and wheat, area residents brewed their own beer at Barleycorn's in Natick on Thursday.  Daniel Eng, the owner of Barleycorn's, started the business in 1998 as a way for beer lovers to make their own custom creations.  Eng says his favorite thing about beer is that he can "experiment with spices and different measurements like with cooking."  When it comes to his favorite beer, Eng said he can't pick just one.  "My favorite beer is my next one," Eng said.

Bale, who is also known for his Batman movie roles, filmed scenes with a former co-star Amy Adams yesterday in Natick. Plymouth South Appeals Natick Playoff Win

The Red Hawks will move on to the Super Bowl after the MIAA denied Plymouth South's appeal.

Plymouth South lost an appeal to dispute their loss to the Natick Red Hawks citing the use of an illegal ball during Natick's 38-33 victory Saturday night, CBS news reports.  The football used by Natick for parts of the game was one not approved by the MIAA, and resulted in a penalty for the Red Hawks during the game.  "Before Tuesday night’s game, Natick asked for, and received, permission from game officials to use a different ball. The error was caught with about four minutes left in the game, and Natick was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty," the article said.   Natick will move on to the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.
