Update: Natick Solar Open House

As part of the residential solar energy campaign in Natick, there will be two open house tours this week of solar customers to help residents learn more about renewable energy in their homes.

March 19, 1:50 p.m.: The Natick Solar Open House has been cancelled tonight. Please visit this event listing in our calendar for more information on the upcoming open house.   The Natick Home Energy Initiative and Next Step Living will be hosting an open house tonight at 6:30 p.m. to give local residents an opportunity to learn more about solar energy in their homes. The home they will be showing tonight is located at 19 Lacosta Dr., and pre-registration is required as the event is limited to 15 people. For about a year, the Natick Home Energy Initiative has set a goal of providing home energy assessments for 630 homes. That's equivalent to roughly 5 percent of eligible homes in town. Natick Solar Challenge to Begin Soon

The Natick Home Energy Initiative has saved residents money on energy and will continue to do so.

The following information was provided by Natick Town Administrator Martha White: In March of 2012, the Town of Natick began a partnership with Next Step Living to provide outreach to residents for Mass Save Energy Assessments and other home energy efficiency services. The Natick Home Energy Initiative set a goal of providing energy assessments for 630 homes in Natick or about 5% of the eligible 1-4 unit homes.  At this time the program has provided 381 energy assessments and completed 113 weatherization jobs. Together we have saved participating Natick residents $23,000 in utility costs, while making their homes more comfortable and sustainable.
