Residents are advised to take extreme caution when out on the streets tonight as there are still trees and wires down across town. Kennedy Middle School will open its doors for the first day Thursday, despite still having no power since Irene hit. School officials announced just before 8 p.m. Tuesday that Kennedy would not be opening with the rest of the schools on Wednesday due to the power outage. But today, the schools notified parents that Thursday would be the first day, despite the lack of power, internet or working phones.
