UPDATE: 33 Outages Remain

Everyone in town is expected to have their power restored by Wednesday evening.

UPDATE, 8 a.m., Thursday: Despite NSTAR's estimate that all power would be restored to Natick last night, 33 people are still without. According to the company, the outages are "non-storm related." ***** UPDATE, 8:15 p.m., Wednesday: As of NSTAR's last update at 7 p.m., 30 (.2 percent) customers are still without power. ***** UPDATE, 4:45 p.m., Wednesday: As of NSTAR's last update at 4 p.m., 54 customers (.3 percent) in town are without power, but are still expected to have it restored by tonight. ***** UPDATE, 12:45 p.m., Wednesday: The number of Natick outages is back up to 138 (.9 percent) as of noon Wednesday. ***** UPDATE, 8:45 a.m., Wednesday: As of the last NSTAR update, 99 people in Natick are still without power (.6 percent). Trick-or-Treating Will Continue as Planned [POLL]

With downed wires across town, Natick is encouraging residents to take caution when trick-or-treating tonight. Will you still continue as planned? Take our poll.

The town of Natick is encouraging residents to continue with trick-or-treating as planned tonight at their own discretion. Residents are advised to take extreme caution when out on the streets tonight as there are still trees and wires down across town. Assume any downed wires that you spot are live and talk to your children about taking these safety precautions.

Kennedy to Open Without Power

Kennedy Middle School will open Thursday, despite still having no power after Irene.

Kennedy Middle School will open its doors for the first day Thursday, despite still having no power since Irene hit. School officials announced just before 8 p.m. Tuesday that Kennedy would not be opening with the rest of the schools on Wednesday due to the power outage. But today, the schools notified parents that Thursday would be the first day, despite the lack of power, internet or working phones. The classes will be held in classrooms that have enough natural light and lunch will be available, according to the schools. In case of emergency, parents may call a cell number, 774- 270-6596. The Windsor Avenue and Eastleigh Lane bus stop has been changed to Windsor Avenue and Proctor Street for safety reasons as many roads are still …
