The hopeful owner of a proposed daycare center on North Main Street has appealed the Zoning Board of Appeals decision in December to block the school's move to town. Curt Van Emon, who proposed the 12,000 square foot Primrose School facility, said he just wants to offer "high-end, educational childcare for Natick." Van Emon said the appeal was filed Friday. The Zoning Board of Appeals made the denial based on the decision that the traffic and safety issues caused would be more detrimental to the town than the space's current usage. Residents are fighting to prevent Primrose childcare center from being built on North Main Street, because they're worried about increased traffic and the safety of children walking to and from other nearby schools.
Neighbors of the proposed Primrose childcare center on North Main Street filled the room at a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals Monday night. The residents expressed their concerns about bright lighting near the school, possible drainage issues and increased traffic to an already problematic area of town during rush hour. Board chairman Michael Hickey assured worried neighbors that the lights around the school would not be on all night. Some of these residents only recently had the light from the McDonald's sign on the Massachusetts Turnpike turned off, after struggling with the light shining into their homes in the middle of the night. I am a resident on Pine St which is already a cut through and with no light at the intersection of Pine St and Rt 27 this could only add to the nightmare on Pine St and with no side walks our kids will never be able to go to friends houses by foot   more ›
