Natick Couple First to Adopt Shar Pei Rescued from Braintree Home

18 dogs were found in the home of a Braintree resident last month after the MSCPA received an anonymous tip.

A Natick couple, John and Lily Storm, has adopted the first of 13 purebread Shar Peis that MSPCA-Angell rescued from unsanitary conditions after raiding a Braintree home following an anonymous tip. Hundreds of people have contacted the agency seeking to adopt the dogs after the news of their misfortune became publicized last week. “Taco,” a 6-month old Shar Pei, has now been happily adopted, while the other 12 continue to recover at the MSPCA-Angell adoption center in Jamaica Plain. Taco was neutered after being rescued and also underwent eye surgery, spokesman Rob Halpin said in an email. "He has also been vaccinated and microchipped so he can enjoy the comfort and security of his new family (which includes two other canine friends)," …
