20-Year-Old Faces 51 Charges After Break-Ins

The suspect, who crashed his car after leading cops on a chase, is connected to crimes in several towns.

Milford Police have arrested a man they say broke into businesses, homes and cars throughout the area, including Framingham and Natick. Ryan A. McClay, 20, of 7 Meserve St., Hopkinton, was arrested in Hopkinton in the early morning hours Wednesday after leading police on a chase into the neighboring town. The arrest came after Milford police found several businesses had been broken into in the early morning hours for the second time this week. A woman called the department in the early morning hours Wednesday when she witnessed a man, later identified as McClay, come from behind Peter's Market before running on to Fountain Street. Natick Cops Help Nab Man Connected to 200 Break-ins, $1M Stolen Property

Arrested in Needham, the Framingham man may have broken into apartments and condos in more than 10 communities, police said.

A Framingham man was arrested Monday as the result of an investigation into hundreds of break-ins throughout nearly a dozen towns. Craig Cromartie, 44, of Cochituate Road, Framingham, has been charged with three counts of breaking and entering at night with intent to commit a felony for three incidents that occured in Needham on June 8, according to a press release issued June 19. An investigation continues, however, into the extent of the break-ins to which police say he is connected. Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey said his department will likely be filing charges related to breaks at a Natick apartment complex. Natick Police helped serve a search warrant, he said.
