Library Suggests This Week's Children's Book Picks

Each week, we will feature book suggestions from the libraries in town, rotating between the Morse Institute and the Bacon Free libraries.

This week, the supervisor of children's services at the Morse Institute Library, Dale Smith, suggests the following books for you children this summer: Smith emphasizes the importance of keeping up with reading during the summer. Summertime, she said, is the perfect time for children to explore folktales, poetry and magazines that have wanted to try out, but haven't had the time to during the school year. There are plenty of magazines at the library geared toward children with certain interests like writing, history and outdoor activities. During the summer, the Morse Institute Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
