The bookmobile will be making three stops tonight.
The Morse Insititute Library is proud of their bookmobile, and tonight they will be showing off the bookmobile as it makes three stops out in the neighborhood. The bookmobile carries books, audiobooks, DVDs and more throughout the spring and summer, according to the library's website. You simply need your library card to check things out. Tonight the bookmobile will stop at three locations: The Morse Institute Library bookmobile makes these stops on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

School Committee and Morse Institute Library Trustee each had a race, but the contested races have been decided.
Only 1,787 (8.91 percent) of registered voters cast a ballot today, but those who did selected a new School Committee member while re-electing two others. Tom Campbell, who has lived in Natick for 11 years and has three children in the Natick Public Schools, received 28.4 percent of the vote, second only to current Vice Chair Anne Blanchard's 28.79 percent (just 16 votes separated them), to get elected to the School Committee in his first attempt at running for public office. "I'm really gratified that so many people helped and supported me," an ecstatic Campbell said about 15 minutes after learning that he had been elected. "I'm really looking forward to working with the other volunteers on the School Committee, the parents, the schools, …

In tomorrow's Annual Town Election, voters will be asked to cast their vote for as many as five Morse Institute Library Trustees.
Tomorrow is the Annual Town Election here in Natick. As part of the election, voters are asked to vote for no more than five Morse Institute Library Trustees. But what is a Library Trustee? Dale Smith has spent her entire career making children smile. Smith, the Supervisor of the Children’s Department at the Morse Institute Library, has always been a children’s librarian and will always love it. “Prior to coming to [the Morse Institute Library], I worked on a book mobile in upstate New York,” Smith said. “ I came here 30 years ago, and I’ve never looked back.” Smith said she loves everything about being a librarian from running programs, to helping people find whatever it is they may be seeking. “Nowadays, everyone has access to a computer,” Smith said. “But I believe libraries will always exist because we have access to information that you cannot find on the Internet. Libraries purchase and provide data bases that are not…

Occupy Natick will approach Town Meeting in the spring.
Occupy Natick wants to end corporate personhood and the ability for corporations to spend money on political campaigns. And it wants Town Meeting to help. Betsy Boggia, an Occupy Natick group organizer, said the hope is if enough towns in Massachusetts voice a view against corporate personhood, the state will adopt the position as well. "It's a real grassroots effort to make some change," said Boggia, who has spent several Saturdays standing on Natick Common protesting with others from the group. Members met last weekend at the Morse Institute Library and decided to propose a resolution to spring Town Meeting to solidify the belief that the U.S. government is a "government of the people, by the people, for the people—not for corporations…
