ReplyWayside is well monitored and safer than many other neighborhoods. Yes there are assaults against the staff...the clients have mental illnesses...they are not criminals and they are being treated. I would be more afraid of living/working near those who are violent or mentally ill who are not in treatment.

ReplyWhy would the signs be at Wayside? The youth that are housed there are being treated for mental health issues. Does that mean they are running free stealing things form the community? No, they are closely monitiored and being treated for mental health issues.

ReplyI am not someone who normally supports Republicans, but Michael Sullivan is more than worthy candidate. Having grown up on the s. shore, I actually know him and his family and feel he has relevant experience as he served as the US Attorney for MA.

Thank you Andrew Meter...you post is well said. Why does anyone need to own automatic weapons? What's wrong with background checks, fees and waiting periods. People have the right to bear arms, but there are so many guns already on the street. Lanza'a mother did own her firearm legally, but I would hardly consider her responsible.

ReplyThere are two sides to every story -
(this is from thinkprogress.org)
Today, Hostess Brands inc. — the company famed for its sickly sweet desert snacks like Twinkies and Sno Balls — announced they’d be shuttering after more than eighty years of production. But while headlines have been quick to blame unions for the downfall of the company there’s actually more to the story: While the company was filing for bankruptcy, for the second time, earlier this year, it actually tripled its CEO’s pay, and increased other executives’ compensation by as much as 80 percent.

Really, I saw a man that looked like he had a few cocktails before the speech.
